Fit For the Future

When you think about it, we are always building for the future generations. More than ever, with tech software, we can virtually build our hotels, our condos, our workspaces – for future  generations.

Gen Z – Zoomers as they are referred to – have entered the workforce. Recognized as the most tech-savvy of all generations, they are poised to have a major impact on how and where work is done. Flexibility, sustainability, modular design, and remote working are concepts this generation espouses when it comes to the work environment.

Gone, or at least fading out, are the days of working for a pension, in one department, one office, clocking in at 8 AM, clocking out at 9 AM, and working for the same company for 25 years. The Zoomer places greater emphasis on “Not what I can do for my company, but where, when and how connected my company to me” They like aligning themselves with companies that have personal values towards the environment, and not just pushing a product to get paid. While it’s up to the businesses themselves to communicate and deliver on these values, an office’s design can play a very important role in attracting and retaining these up-and-comers.
